Step 1.
Please review the following questions before returning your Ceres tester for repair.
If your answer to any of these questions is NO, please perform the recommended troubleshooting exercises.
This may resolve your problem without the need to return the unit for service.
Step 2.
Have you thoroughly cleaned the unit’s probe tip? It is recommended that the tip be cleaned during warm-up
each time the unit is turned on, and after a few minutes of continual operation. The probe may be cleaned by
scratching it vigorously against a piece of paper. Do not use coated or waxed paper and be careful to point
the probe tip straight down at the paper.
Step 3.
Are the ni-cad batteries in your unit fully charged? If your unit uses alkaline batteries, have you replaced them
with fresh ones? For the purpose of diagnosing problems with your unit, it is highly recommended that you plug
it into a wall outlet. If this is not possible, however, please be sure that your ni-cad batteries are fully
charged and your alkaline batteries still operational.
Step 4.
Have you read the unit’s operators manual thoroughly? Many common‘ problems’ with diamond testers are due to improper
testing technique. Please read the manual carefully – click HERE to read the manual for your product – to make sure
that you are using the product according to its instructions.
