Bags are measured width by length.

Width is the outside dimension.
Depth is measured from the bottom of the zipper to the bottom of the bag.

Thickness: 1 mil, is a unit of length equal to one thousandth of an international inch

Due to reinforced side seals, bag openings are approximately 1/2" less than their listed width.
